Summer Skincare Routine:
Here are some tips to help you build a summer skincare routine for oily skin that will help keep your skin looking its best all season long.
1) Wear Sunscreen Religiously:
Oily skin is more prone to sun damage. The first and foremost thing is to apply sunscreen on visible areas. It is a requirement whether you are indoors or outdoors.
Heat and humidity can boost oil production. Therefore, it is essential to safeguard your skin from both UVA and UVB rays. Applying sunblock belittles the risk of several skin conditions.
How to choose the perfect sunscreen:
> Go for a mineral-based sunscreen
> Look for SPF 30 or 50
> Search for Zinc oxide and Titanium Dioxide.
> Avoid ingredients like Formaldehyde, Parabens, etc
2) Wash your Face:
It is the specialty of the summer season that you will sweat frequently. Sweating can lead to multiple skin issues like fungal acne, whiteheads, and pimples.
To avoid such problems, keep your face dirt-free and sweat-free. Cleansing twice per day will assist you in the disposal of excess sebum and dirt.
As these culprits contribute to a myriad of infections, we suffer daily. Dermatologists do not recommend over-washing your face. It strips away the natural oils in the skin.
3) Use Blotting Papers:
Use blotting papers throughout the day to soak up excess oil and prevent it from building up on your skin.
4) Drink Plenty of Water:
Make sure you are drinking water to stay hydrated from the inside out! Summertime is the perfect time to lighten up your skincare routine – especially if you have oily skin.
Heavy creams and oils can feel suffocating in the heat. So, it is necessary to balance hydration and oil control.
5) Put on light makeup:
Try to use light makeup in summer as heavy makeup can become cakey after some time. Heavy makeup can lead to clogging pores which results in pimples and acne.
6) Cleanse your face:
Start by cleansing your face with a gentle cleanser that does not strip your skin of its natural oils. Oily skin can tend to be on the shinier side, so you must start your day (and end your night) with a clean slate.
Choose a cleanser containing salicylic acid. Salicylic acid works best in removing dirt and acne from the skin.
7) Follow with a light moisturizer:
After cleansing, use a lightweight and non-greasy moisturizer or serum. If your skin is extra greasy, carry some blotting papers to absorb excess oil during the day.
Just follow these simple steps. You can enjoy the summer without worrying about your skin. If your moisturizer is too heavy, it can clog pores and lead to breakouts.
Instead, look for a light lotion or gel that will absorb quickly into your skin without leaving it feeling greasy.
8) Apply Toner:
Toners help remove any lingering traces of dirt and makeup left after cleansing. Plus, they help restore pH balance to the skin (which can be thrown off by overly alkaline cleansers). Choose a mild and alcohol-free toner that best suit your skin type.
9) Exfoliate regularly:
Exfoliation is also crucial for managing oily skin. Exfoliation is vital for keeping oily skin healthy and blemish-free. It will benefit in removing dead skin cells that obstruct pores and lead to breakouts. Once or twice a week, use an exfoliating scrub or mask containing ingredients like clay or charcoal.
Which will help absorb excess oil and unclog pores. Avoid harsh scrubs, which can irritate and strip away too much natural oil from your face. Opt instead for gentle exfoliants that will leave your complexion feeling refreshed.
10) Apply Clay Masks:
Clay masks are helpful for the skin in summer as it gives the skin a refreshing and clean look. Apply a clay mask designed for oily skin types twice a week.
Choose Skincare Products for oily skin:
